I just bought a couple of tickets to go see The Who in October. $87 each for kind of crappy seats, but oh well, it's not often you get to see a band like The Who. I have no idea weather or not I'll have anyone to go with - I hope so, I really want to see them. But if I can't find anyone to go with it shouldn't be too hard to sell the tickets.
Tonight I went to see a really good movie called Peaceful Warrior. It's based on the book Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman. It's the semi-autobiographical story of gymnast Dan Millman who finds the key to enlightenment through a wise gas station attendent whom he calls Socrates. A lot of people would probably find it kind of cheesy, but I found it quite uplifting.
I'm recovering from an infection from an abcessed tooth. I'm feeling a lot better now, but for several days the whole right side of my face was swollen and I was in a lot of pain. I sure hope I never have to go through this again. And it came right in time for my birthday.
I just finished a pretty good book called "Long Way Down" by Nick Hornby. It's about 4 strangers who end up on the roof of a fifteen story building known as Toppers House on New Years Eve, all intending to jump. Instead they all become friends and decide to go on living. It's kind of like a darker version of the Breakfast Club. Johny Depp is making it into a movie, it should be pretty good.
